everything you need to know about the installation process

This guide will walk you through the installation process so everything runs smoothly.
You will be able to get an EV charger installed at home if:

1. You own the property or have written permission from your landlord (potential £350 OZEV Grant available for those who rent)
2. You have your own off-street parking
3. You have a WiFi connection for remote diagnostics and usage reports

Approx 80% of UK EV charging takes place at home. With a home charger you will be able to plug in your car and wake up the next day with a full battery. All with the bonus of lower fuelling costs than a petrol or diesel equivalent.

Our EV charger pricing is based on a standard installation. If after the online survey a non-standard installation is indicated then we will discuss next steps with you. A non-standard installation may be because additional cabling is needed due to the distance from your fuse box to the location of the charging point, or there are a number of walls to route the cable through.
The site survey

We can usually complete an online survey without the need for an in-person visit. However, at certain properties where a non standard installation has been identified, we may need to conduct a physical survey at the location, to make sure everything is optimised for the best charging performance. Things the survey will look at include power supply, charging point location and WiFi connection.

Why do I need a WIFI connection?

Today’s generation of EV chargers do more than just transfer electricity from the power supply to your car. By connecting your EV charger to WiFi, you can have access to intelligent smart features, eco friendly reports on energy usage and software updates.

Installation Day!

To ensure a smooth installation we recommend you clear as much of the area around the installation site as possible. Sometimes adjustments have to be made to get the best out of your installation. Your installer will help you choose the best spot for your charging point, based on power supply, ease of access and where you park. Your installer will need to switch the power supply off for installation of the charging point. Make sure you’re able to turn everything off for a little while.
